校友

Dr. 乔纳森·莱布, the Chair of the Department of 政治科学 and 地理位置 initiated an 校友关系 Committee in Spring 2018. The basic scope of the committee is to strengthen the connection between our alumni and the department. More specifically, we aim to:

  1. Develop a strong alumni network, and extend this network to enhance informal relationships between alumni and current students to help alumni mentor current majors,

  2. Foster career opportunities for current majors and minors,

  3. Promote exchange of information and experiences,

  4. Enhance recruiting of the very best students through a strong career mentoring network.

校友 Mentor Program

Established by the Department of 政治科学 and 地理位置 校友关系 Committee, the 校友 Mentor Program aims to foster meaningful relationships between 政治科学 (POLS)/地理位置 (GEOG) alumni and current POLS/GEOG students. The connections made in this program help prepare our students for a successful future and leave a lasting impact on ODU campus. The mentoring areas can include job search, career guidance and recommended coursework. If you are interested in participating in the program as a protégé or mentor, please fill out a corresponding enrollment form here. The 校友关系 committee will try its best to connect each protégé (student/alumni) with an engaged mentor (alumni).

Annual 校友 Panel

Annual 校友 Panel is a key part of an ongoing program of connecting with our alumni to build networking between alumni and to help alumni mentor current majors. Each year a group of political science and geography alumni are invited to serve on a panel discussion. The project is intended to leverage alumni expertise, 技术, and professional networks to assist current students in shaping their career choices. Other alumni will also be invited to attend the event. This event is a critical component of our commitment to serve both alumni and students.
